V-DAY!

14th Feb is famous or rather infamous for a quite a few number of reasons. Everyone has their own opinion regarding the significance of the day, some are against it and while others are all into celebrating it, I personally am pretty neutral about the entire thing.

Apparently even a school kid knows what 14th Feb is all about! Believe me I literally found out..this Vday! :D

My 10yr old sweet cousin bro who I fondly refer to as my BF, came over to my place this Sunday, greets me , tells me he'll brb and rushes out of the house. He comes back 10 mins later and hands me a cornetto ice cream, I ask him," whats this for!?". He smiles shyly and questions me " Did you forget what day it is today!?","Its VALENTINES DAY!!". It was the most adorable gesture! I couldn't help but smile and wonder how guys know how to charm girls even at such a young age!! :)

Anyhow that was definitely the highlight of my day and was one helluva sweet unexpected surprise! :)

Cham cham song - Striker

I downloaded the album of the movie "Striker" but never really got around to listening to any of the tracks, after few recommendations I finally heard the song called "cham cham", its such a beautiful song !!

This has to be one of the best songs by Sonu Nigam in recent times, he has yet again proved his amazing singing talent with this track, the lyrics are a little inclined towards the Urdu language which is apt according to the sufi music of the song. The singer simply gives life to the words and conveys them beautifully!

I have never really been a big fan of Sonu Nigam , agreed he has a lot of amazing tracks to his credit but its hard to get rid of his SAREGAMAPA image of him being clad in those traditional Indian "grl like" outfits with a dupatta ! sheesh!! talk about messing up a guys image! Ahh..and there was a time when he was dabbling with his acting skills :| ! come on there's a reason these ppl are called playBACK singers! they'r are supposed 2 be behind da cam :D

I think among all his other songs my absolute favorite ( like most of you all) has gotta be "Kal ho na ho" from the movie "Kal ho na ho".

Anyways getting back to the current track, the lyrics have been penned by Jeetendra Joshi and the soulful sufi music touch has been composed by Shailendra Brave, the song has a distinct feel about it, the claps and the tabla beats give it a unique soothing qawwali touch. I've been listening to the song non stop since a week now :D

insanely lazy! :D

Wow! So looks like am back after around 1 1/2 years now! Well its not that i don't ve the time to blog its just that am pretty lazy at times! and was lacking the motivation and above all I don't feel like filling in the space with my crap unless it looks like "my perfect crap!" if ya know what I mean! ;)

Ohh! and lemme tell you the biggest reason for my vanishing act.. I couldn't remember my email id and password combination :D :D had 2 go through a lot of trial and error method to reach here!:)

Anyways..am gonna be babbling quite often from now.. well at least that's the plan!:)

Finally Winter ! :)

I woke up in the morning feeling the chill , so i looked over my bed to check if i left the AC on again !nopes...its not that its FINALLY WINTER !:D
In school we were taught that there are four seasons but if ya live in this city you'll realize that there are just 2 seasons in a year - 1. summer -that takes up about 8-9 months of the calender !
2. winter- that takes up 3-4 months if we're lucky ! oh yeah and then there's the occasional down pour which occurs during the most inappropriate times !(like when you've a function or an outing that all planned!)
love winters,probably b'coz it portrays a sort of lazy dullness which is more like me !:P Anything is better than drowning in your own sweat!Moreover winter's bring a sort of calmness and not to forget the fact that ice creams and coffees taste just even more great in this season :D.

Just wish I get a chance to watch snowfall somewhere.. some winter..someday :)
Oh and not to forget I get another excuse for not getting outta bed early ( Its choo cold mom...I don't wanna get out of my comfy bed !;) )

I just heard this song the other day from the movie Fashion ,thx to my sis who can play a song sooo many times that you could actually start hating a song you really really loved ! Well back to the song,its really soothing and wonderful to listen to,the music director Salim Merchant takes over the vocals himself along with the female singer Shruti Pathak (this being her second movie as a playback singer ,though am not 100% sure) and both of them sound excellent !The Arabic interlude makes it all the more catchy and appealing..!

I’m just posting the lyrics of the song with the Arabic part and its meaning that i just found over the net,though am not entirely sure if they are right but they do seem to go according to the hindi lyrics.I’ve already heard the song back to back about a million times since yesterday and am still loving it ! :D
